The Kentucky Career Center is hosting twice monthly virtual job fairs so you can connect with employers from home, on your cell, the library or wherever is most convenient for you! This is a great way to talk with several employers at once and explore local jobs that are open now. HCPL provides access to computers, wifi, study rooms, and staff assistance on these dates, so don’t let lack of a device or internet access hinder you! You do need to register in advance of your first virtual job fair, following this link: Virtual Job Fairs You are welcome to use the library’s computers to do this as well.
Lego Club, ages 5-18, Story Area
Come in between 1:30 PM and 5 PM and create something with Lego. We will provide a challenge, but you are free to make your own creations too. Final clean-up starts at 5:30 PM.

Japanese Karate, a traditional style consisting of etiquette, warmup, basic striking, blocking & kicking philosophy towards self-defense. You’ll learn forms, defense combinations, escapes & control manipulation. Class is 1 hour long, comfortable attire is recommended to start.
One hour class. Gentle warm up including the eight brocades, an 800 year old series on movements designed for maximum benefit. None of this is strenuous; it improves balance and flexibility. Can be done seated for those with problems standing.

Dogs are the best reading buddies - they wont correct you on a word or tell you to hurry up. They love every story and picture, and especially the treats you give them afterward! Reading with the shelter dogs gives them a friendly human face to interact with and can help them get adopted even faster!
